|City of Anacortes Negotiation Update|
The City of Anacortes and your Union committee continue to bargain in efforts to reach a tentative agreement we can bring to you for your vote. Due to the unprecedented crisis caused by the COVID-19 Outbreak, your committee has been faced with the challenge of continuing this process without the face to face connection at the bargaining table. Despite this setback, I am happy to announce that we are in the final stages of reaching agreement, and a vote of the City of Anacortes Union Membership will be taking place in the near future.
On behalf of your negotiating committee, I want to say that we have succeeded in some really great changes to your Union Contract, addressing proposals gathered and brought forth by the membership. Throughout the process we have been fortunate to avoid tough decisions regarding any concessions that might negatively impact you as members.
I want to express my gratitude for the patience, understanding and solidarity that you have shown throughout this process and to assure you that each and every one of you as Union members will be given the opportunity vote on the final tentative agreement.
Upon completion of negotiations and receipt of a recommended offer (as determined by your Union Negotiating Committee), I will mail all pertinent information, including ballots and postage paid return envelopes, to the City of Anacortes Union Membership. Instructions for casting your mail ballot vote will be included in the information packet as well as timeline information for return, etc.
I want to reiterate to you all that your committee has worked very hard on behalf of each one of you and we look forward to presenting a recommended offer to you in the near future.
